Keystone in the Way is an initiative started by Luxembourg historians to highlight the actions of the 28th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, which ultimately saved numerous military and civilian lives.
In honor of the 75th anniversary of the beginning of this historic battle (16 Dec 1944), commemorative story boards have been erected near many of the existing monuments in northern Luxembourg to educate visitors of the significance of the memorials. Ceremonies throughout the day were held at Ettelbruck, Diekirch, Consthum, Hosingen, Munshausen, Weiswampach, and Wiltz. The day ended at Clervaux with the dedication of new bronze bust of Col. Hurley Fuller across from Claravallis Hotel, which was his 110th Regimental Command Post, and a closing ceremony at G.I. Memorial in the town center.
